Keepers of Craft invites families to meet the artists, makers, naturalists, and skilled craftspeople whose passion, knowledge, and generosity remind us that the most meaningful things we learn are often passed from one pair of hands to another.

Imagine arriving to find someone already at work.
Perhaps it's a potter whose hands know clay by heart. A watercolor painter who notices colors most people walk past. A baker sharing a family recipe that's been passed down for generations. A naturalist opening a field journal filled with years of careful observation.
Children gather close. Caregivers lean in, too.

Try for yourself with patient guidance, encouragement, and plenty of room to learn. Every expert was once a beginner.

Plan Your Visit
Everything you need to know before your first Keepers of Craft visit.
Keepers of Craft gatherings last approximately 90 minutes, giving families time to meet the maker, observe their craft, practice new skills, and enjoy meaningful conversation together. Every gathering is unique, shaped by both the craft and the person sharing it.
Sessions
Keepers of Craft is especially engaging for children ages 6–12, though families know their children best. Curiosity, readiness, and a willingness to try something new matter far more than age alone.
Ages
Keepers of Craft is designed for shared discovery. Children and grownups learn side by side, asking questions, trying new skills, and enjoying the conversations that naturally unfold throughout each gathering.
Learning Together
Because each gathering is shaped around a visiting maker, materials are prepared in advance and group sizes remain intentionally small. Advance reservations help us create a welcoming experience for both families and our visiting Keepers of Craft.
